I am an out of network provider, so I do not take insurance. However, many insurances offer reimbursement for out of network providers.
Feel free to contact your insurance to ask about this option! I am also happy to provide a superbill or any additional information you may need to submit these claims.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give their clients who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

When you use your insurance, your insurance company also has a space in the therapy room. They can dictate parts of treatments and the amounts of allowed sessions. When you see a therapist out of network, they are not entitled to the same information or control.
